Shouldn’t You Know What Causes High Triglycerides?

Everyone knows about triglycerides and how they can be bad, so what causes high triglycerides even when avoiding foods high in cholesterol? Is there a secret to all this? Or is it a genetic thing? And how to lower triglycerides if and when they are increased?

What causes high triglycerides are actually carbohydrates. Okay, so carbohydrates are not fat, how come they cause an increase? The biology is complicated, but to make it simple, carbohydrates turn to fat, especially if they are taken in excess and are accompanied by alcohol. The liver will stop the breakdown of carbohydrates to address the problem of the alcohol first. This is a bad course of action, but what can we do? The liver recognizes poison when it enters the body, even if our brain is stupid enough to deny it.

Another answer as to what causes high triglycerides is foods rich in fat, obviously. Oily foods such as those found in fast food places are really the stars of this production. It is a recognized and well established fact and no one can really deny it, but that’s what makes it so good in the first place. They make us full immediately for such a small amount. However, the savings today are the heart attack of tomorrow, so I will just leave it at that.

Age is also what causes high triglycerides. The older we get, the body breaks down, not because of anything but our body undergoes such a lot of abuse that the wear and tear can be too much; especially if we over indulge when we are young, so don’t wonder overly much if the body ages fast. With this breakdown, some illnesses can surface like the Loch Ness monster: diabetes, kidney problems, cirrhosis of the liver and others.

Most of these diseases are not simply because of age, however. Most of the time, there is genetics involved and those with the predisposition should take better care of themselves. Knowing what the family history is does not mean that it won’t happen to you. Your are not invincible, and that sense of invincibility will be your Achilles, so to speak.

A trip to the doctor’s clinic will be a great advantage, not a disadvantage. Some people who never thought they had problems are sometimes taken by surprise. The words, “but I’ve never been sick before in my whole life” is quite often heard. What causes high triglycerides is not the flu or a fever; it is the diet, lifestyle and the perseverance to stick to unhealthy foods because it is enjoyable, that’s what.
